The Great Lighthouse Project

This is a school project Jack had this year. He's in the 4th grade and had to make a replica of the Stannard Rock Lighthouse located in Marquette Michigan. He was allowed to work on it with his dad (me/Steve), it's success was a major part of his overall final grade. We made it from a Styrofoam block that was cut into a circle to form the base, a Purel water bottle for the lighthouse, newspaper and flour paper mache', toothpicks, some paint and a few other common household things. We were quite happy with the end results - he got an A+ (100%). I am totally proud!

Your lighthouse turned out great. It really looks like the orignial. You and Jack are a good team. I'm proud of you both.
Love,

um...mr "i plucked that string unto the glory of the Lord"...why did we start a blog and not continue it? i love this lighthouse, by the way. i wish i could count on my 4th graders' parents to help them build like this...but not a chance.

i think everyone who has something to share should consistently blog. so do it...
